Book a local bike tour with Jodi or try our suggestions for a ride on the bike path to Porepunkah (5km) or Bright (11km). Along the way, visit local wineries, the ovens river and cafes.

Walk the laneways

On the Alpine Angus farm, you can walk the laneways connecting different parts of the farm.

The laneways take you through to the central driveway or Cavedons lane, past the walnut trees, and chestnut trees and then the vineyard – where Kilnhouse Row 8 verdehlo, prosecco, tempranillo and vermentino are produced.

Hit the slopes

Winter brings snow to the high country and the kilnhouses are the ideal basecamp for your next ski adventure. The kilnhouses are only an hour from Mount Buffalo and an hour and fifteen from Mount Hotham and Falls Creek.

Ski, snowboard, sled or just make snow angels – then return to your cosy fireplace at the kilnhouses and relax.

What’s your ideal luxury escape?

As a year round destination, the north east is hard to beat. In winter, skiing; in summer swimming in the Ovens and Buckland rivers; in all seasons, bike riding, walking, visiting wineries, and relaxing spas nearby.

We've pulled together some of our favourite things to do at the kilnhouses and around the local area. Use our sample weekend itinery for inspiration for your own weekend away.
